Inner Midfielders 中场篇 Types. Midfielders are the most complex type of players, along with wingers. They contribute to midfield, defense and attack at the same time, no matter what individual orders they get. Inner midfielders may be placed in one of the following classes: offensive midfielder, defensive midfielder, multiskill midfielder and midfielder towards wing. Offensive midfielders (IMOs) have high passing as secondary skill. Defensive midfielders (IMDs) have high defending as secondary skill. Multiskill midfielders (MSIMs) are proficient in both passing and defending. All midfielders should be starting with at least solid pm and at least inadequate for all other skills - defending, passing (and wing, for IMTWs). Normally you will find trained PMs at the age of 20, usually around SN. For IMOs you may find players already trained in passing, either around SN passing or a double brilliant/magnificent PM-PASS or a mix in between. For IMDs you could also start from a WC-SN defender to build the player you desire. Of course, around the age of 20 you could also find a mix of DEF-PM that is around double brilliant and it will work out great. MSIMs are very rare at the moment, so probably your best shot is to go for a classic PM around SN. Buuut if you have the unlikely chance to find a triple outstanding DEF-PM-PASS at the age of 20, grab him of the transfer list with all confidence. IMTWs can either be built from classical midfielders or from a winger with PM proficiency. Why defending you say? Simply because the offensive midfielder gives 21% of his defending skill to the central defense rating and 10% of it to the wing defense. So get him up to excellent - formidable DEF before starting PM-PASS training cycle. Then get both PM and PASS to the same level and start training alternatively each skill for one pop-up each. This will ensure you the lowest possible salary in the long term. When passing gets to titanic you need to decide if it is worth to get it to ET or not - depending on how much time you still have to train PM. It is very important for IMs to get as much PM training as possible, to be at utopian level when they reach 30s. IMDs, just like IMOs, must get their defending training up asap. SN should be the goal here. Then move to PM training to get him to ET. When he reaches this point you should consider training passing up to excellent if his age permits this - if you still have time afterwards to get him to utopian when he gets to the age of 30. MSIMs are, in my opinion, the future of NTs. Get the player up to magnificent DEF first. Then train PM/PAS to get both skills to the same level. You know the drill now, train alternatively both skills until PAS gets to magnificent as well. Then pop PM to ET. At this point you need to decide if your player still has time to get to utopian PM around 30 if you give him another pop-up in one or both DEF and PAS. Minimum wage, maximum efficiency for the normal IM position. IMTWs, even if they look like modified PM wingers, they are more complex than that. A player in this position still helps central defense with about 35% of his DEF skill and the wing defense with around 29%. Central attack still gets a significant boost from passing (~23%), while side attack benefits from both passing (27%) and wing (49%). So this should not be considered just an IM with wing. First get DEF up to formidable-outstanding. Then move to W training and reach titanic in this department. Now you can move the player to PM training until he gets ET. Also they can be a solution for a inner played as WTM Powerful is nice, especially for IMDs and MSIMs, even if they get tired quicker in the sun. Technical inners are very nice in sunny weather, but you will probably hate them in rain. Also, they have the potential to be trained as defensive forwards , so consider training passing as secondary. Unpredictable inners are usually the "stay away from" guys in popular belief. Around 90% of the IMs I’ve seen around NT teams (Singapore, Romania, Hungary, Azerbaijan) are IMOs. That leaves only 10% for IMDs, MSIMs and IMTWs - a very small selection range.
