You mention it, but not directly and many people are unaware of this: When using AOW, will it actually help you? I've heard many people say "But I have good wing attacks and a high tactical skill. Surely it's correct to attack on the wings? Why did I still lose?" What they fail to understand is that it's not the attack ratings they have to look at. Because they play AOW they usually have a bad central attack so the defence punishment doesn't matter that much. Also, they often play offensive wingers, so their wing defence is normally weak. By playing correctly, it can favour you to play AOW, while removing the effect of your opponent's AOW. Say 2 defensive wing backs to stop his wing attacks and one offensive central defender depending on the situation. You can even play 2 offensive wingers and 2 normal forwards. Many neglect their central attack completely when playing AOW and instead chooses complete overkill on te wings. It's better to have, say one level below (the opponent's defence) in the middle and 2 levels above on the wing than 5 levels below in the middle and 6 levels above on the wing when playing AOW. You won't divert all attacks, and normally you waste many chances in the middle that easiliy could have been converted. 这里我还要强调另外一点 : 很多玩家在踢边路进攻战术时，完全忽略了自己的中路进攻评级， 一般来说， 比较起对手的防守评级，中路进攻 1 level down + 边路进攻 2 level up， 会比中路进攻 5 level down + 边路进攻 6 level up 来的好。 原因是 : 并不是所有的普通机会都会从中路转向边路， 如此一来，你会浪费太多你原本可以打进的中路普通机会。 Also, AOW can be a defensive strategy. Against a superior opponent with a bad central attack, you could focus on midfield and wing defence and play with one (or two if possible) wing attacks and pray. This could work as an alternative to pressing.
