Interview with the managerJiago (3328233) ,
whose team Armata Brancaleone F.C (728884) was playing in the
Italian Serie A.
-How did you come to Hattrick?
Found the link while lurking some football forums.
Fell in love immediately.
-Why did you decide to build a LS team?
I realized my team was achieving the best ratings I could afford.
I also was a little bored playing with oldies and general training.
I knew it was a risky move but trying to be the first italian team
succesfully playing LS on upper levels was very tempting too.
-How to play your team before?
In the beginning (from low series to III) my team was an all out attack one,
training in scoring and passing.
After that it switched to defensive tactics (one side attack, pressing)
and never get back.
-How did you begin rebuilding team for this tactic?
At once all the sold out and bought a new team or it took place gradually?
Rebuilding from scratch was not an option.
I was playing in serie a and never wanted to relegate losing on purpose.
I tried to adapt my team step by step.
It was full of oldies so I saved players with some scoring,
did get others with 9/10 scoring and started to train set pieces.
I already had a defensive team so the change was not so big.
-What players you buy and what skills they are training?
On the beginning I was buying oldies PM an defs with scoring,
training in set pieces. Now I train my youngsters and only buy defenders
with nice combo of scoring/set pieces.
Playmaking is a big appreciated bonus.
-Is it necessary to the player to have Specialities?
I think specialty is a must have. Head is the best one,
Fast on wingers and fwds shortly follows.
-How do you decide the problem of replacement older players on younger?
Or the players just get old in a team?
This is a very big problem because good LS players are few.
I am in the middle of rebuilding my playmaking backbone with youngsters.
Most of my old players (defenders) die in the team and they are
replaced with other cheap oldies.
-Do you can make a profit from the training of their players?
I do not train for profit. My profit comes from saving on wages.
I do not think training LS players is a good way to make money.
-Why your team did not win the Seria A?
Because there were two better teams than my Armata. :)
Honestly I never did think to have a chance out there.
My medium wages were around 600k. Biggest competitors had 1,5/2 millions
wages and so much stronger teams than mine.
We are talking of two fantastic managers,
skilled enough to mantain such expensive teams for seasons (I am surely not).
I am very proud of my third place in Serie A.
-What do you need so that your LS team can win the Masters?
Mythical experienced LS playmakers everywhere,
one big side attack and untold amount of pure luck. :)
-What do you think is it possible to build a LS team with a strong wing attack?
It is not only possible to build LS team with strong attack,
it is necessary in order to avoid absolute predictability.
I am talking of one side attack.
You will give up some defence but for very good reasons.
-What players would you most like to have in an ideal LS Dream Team?
Wonderful GK is a must. Second place is for defensive wingers
(i.e. double skilled PM/Def with scoring and set pieces).
Those side attacks are nasty to defend!
-What can you advise managers who are just beginning to build a LS team?
Do not have strong expectations.
This is by far the most random tactic out there!
