在第四季第二十一集， Ted要到了一个女生的电话， 结果Barney跟Marshall偷偷把电话换成Barney的另外一支号码， 然後一直假装是那个女生跟Ted传简讯， 後来他们遇到了一个保全，他很懂得怎麽讲甜言蜜语， 其中他引用了诗人的诗的部分，去骗Ted，但是过程中也让Barney跟Marshall非常感动 以下是他说的部份 Just knowing he's out there, thinking about you, caring about you, makes you feel safe. So ,all your fears, all your yesterdays wash away, and only hope remains in the promise of his embrace, You make me thank God for every mistake I ever made, because each one led me down the path that brought me to you. And when we finally come together, I want you to hold me. Hold me all night. Stroke my hair. Tell me that I'm a woman and show me you are a man. Until there was only now. You and I ... and now. I do not ask of the night explanations. I wait for it, and it envelops me, and so you and bread and light and shadow are. I'll be back when wind and fate and chances bring me back. 最後这一段是引用Pablo Neruda写的诗，一位智利诗人。 原诗满长的 And because Love battles And because love battles not only in its burning agricultures but also in the mouth of men and women, I will finish off by taking the path away to those who between my chest and your fragrance want to interpose their obscure plant. About me, nothing worse they will tell you, my love, than what I told you.
