标题[情报] BAKER SAYS RHODES AN ALL-STAR

Reds manager Dusty Baker made a case for Arthur Rhodes to make the All-Star
Team.
“Arthur is an All-Star,” Baker said. “He’s been our most consistent guy
in the bullpen. It’s one of the most consistent years I’ve seen for someone
in the bullpen.”
Rhodes has allowed one run all year. He took a 31-appearance, 28 2/3-inning
scoreless streak into Monday’s game.
He’s 2-1 overall with an 0.29 ERA, which is tops among National League
relievers with 30 innings or more.
Rhodes’ problem is closers tend to be picked over setup men when putting
together an All-Star team.
“I think Arthur deserves it,” Baker said.
Baker mentioned Dodgers reliever Hong Chih Kuo as another left-hander
deserving. Kuo hasn’t given up a hit to a left-hander all year.
Rhodes has. But Rhodes has pitched more innings (30 2/3 to 21) than Kuo and
has a better overall ERA (0.29 to 1.29).
Rhodes, 40, has never made an All-Star team.
