With Trevor Hoffman bound for Milwaukee, the Dodgers plan to install
Jonathan Broxton as their closer and acquire setup men to complete their
bullpen.
Broxton and Hong-Chih Kuo are the only returning relievers with a full season
of major league experience. Broxton, 24, replaced an injured Takashi Saito as
the closer last season and converted 14 of 17 saves.
The Dodgers also have youngsters Cory Wade, Ramon Troncoso and Scott Elbert
for the bullpen and reportedly have pursued veterans Juan Cruz, Guillermo
Mota and Dennys Reyes.
