Starting with Kuo: Hong-Chih Kuo continues to make strides as he
becomes a starting pitcher again. Kuo threw five scoreless innings
for the second consecutive start Saturday night for Triple-A Las Vegas.
He had five strikeouts and one walk, and 48 of 69 pitches were strikes.
Kuo was originally a starting pitcher before blowing out his elbow,
requiring two Tommy John ligament replacement operations and five
years of rehabilitation, then returning as a reliever. Last month
it was decided he was sound enough to be stretched back out as a
starter, and the added innings would help him overcome command problems
