McGrady scored 30 points and had nine assists as the Rockets overcame foul trouble to defeat the Memphis Grizzlies, 89-81. Jim Jackson added 14 points and eight rebounds and Juwan Howard chipped in 11 and nine for the Rockets, who opened the season with losses at Detroit and Toronto. "Well, game one was tough, but I think we're looking good," McGrady said. "A game like this feels good because this team is tough. We'll keep building." "I thought Tracy's passing was great," Houston coach Jeff Van Gundy said. "He definitely helps make the team more effective. We just were trying to get the ball in the hands of our best decision-maker." Yao Ming had just eight points amid constant foul trouble, but backup Dikembe Mutombo blocked six shots and helped hound the Grizzlies into shooting just 35 percent (26-of-74).
