38. The positive two-digit integers x and y have the same digits,
but in reverse order. Which of the following must be a factor of x + y ?
(A) 6
(B) 9
(C) 10
(D) 11
(E) 14
[解]
假设x的十位数字为a,个位数字为b，
因为x与y的数位/个位数字颠倒(in reverse order)，
故y的十位数字为b,个位数字为a。
则x与y实际所代表的数值分别为x=10a+b, y=10b+a，
故x+y=(10a+b)+(10b+a)=11a+11b=11(a+b)，为11的倍数。
x+y有因数11，
选D。
