the kinds of demand they are trying to meet. The only cyclists seriously
interested in innovation and willing to pay for it are bicycle racers.
Therefore, innovation in bicycle technology is limited by what authorities
will accept as standard for purposes of competition in bicycle races.

我想请问C的意思要如何解释呢? 我对题目的了解是"脚踏车手只会有兴趣跟购买创新规格
的脚踏车 因此 创新规格受到赛事标准而受到限制"
我看不太懂c的意思 它是说"脚踏车手对於参赛用规格的脚踏车并不会有很大的需求?"
还是我对C的翻译是错误的呢?
