Thu Sep 10 23:37:44 2009
(25857-!-item-!-188;#058&001732)
: Heavy commitment by an executive to a course of action,
: especially if it has worked well in the past, makes it likely
: to miss signs of incipient trouble or misinterpret them when
: they do appear.
: 1. Heavy commitment by an executive to a course of action,
: especially if it has worked well in the past, makes it likely
: to miss signs of incipient trouble or misinterpret them when
: they do appear.
第一
it指代不清 因为it不得指代an executive
Heavy commitment makes it likely to miss signs...
插入语 , especially if it has worked well in the past,
因为他是在action(n.)
: 2. An executive who is heavily committed to a course of action,
: especially one that worked well in the past, makes missing signs
: of incipient trouble or misinterpreting ones likely when they do appear.
第四 one that worked well 表达的是「过去曾经对」
现在完成式的 one that has worked well (迄今都对) 会比过去简单式表达贴切
: 3. An executive who is heavily committed to a course of action
: is likely to miss or misinterpret signs of incipient trouble when
: they do appear, especially if it has worked well in the past.
第二 especially if it has worked...
: 4. Executives’ being heavily committed to a course of action,
: especially if it has worked well in the past, makes them likely
: to miss signs of incipient trouble or misinterpreting them when
: they do appear.
第四 to V and Ving平行
: 5. Being heavily committed to a course of action, especially one
: that has worked well in the past, is likely to make an executive
: miss signs of incipient trouble or misinterpret them when they
: do appear.
Being heavily committed to a course of action
Something makes an executive miss signs...
第二
这边是one that has worked well in the past作 a course of action的修饰语
