Although a surge in retail sales has raised hopes that a recovery is finally
underway, many economists say that (without a large amount of spending the
recovery might not last.)

As its sales of computer products have surpassed those of measuring
instruments, the company has become increasingly willing to compete for the
mass market sales (it would in the past have conceded to rivals.)
请问：
1.#1括号处是否为与现在事实相反之假设?
若是,则代表事实为有a large amount of spending,且recovery会last,如此一来,
配合句子一开头具有转折语气的although下去念,不会怪怪的吗?
感觉上,若配合although所带出的附属子句,主要子句的部分,应该陈述对景气复苏
持续与否有所不确定性才对。
若不是与现在事实相反之假设,那这种用法又是什麽?
2.#5括号处是否为与过去事实相反之假设?
若是,则代表事实为这家公司在过去并未将mass market sales让给竞争对手,搭配前
面the company has become increasingly willing to compete for the mass
market sales念起来,不会怪怪的吗?既然之前没有让给竞争对手,何来become
increasingly willing to compete的问题呢?
感觉上,括号处应该陈述过去曾让给竞争对手的事实才对。
若不是与现在事实相反之假设,那这种用法又是什麽?
