SAN FRANCISCO (TICKER) —The Golden State Warriors’ already-thin lineup
just got a little thinner.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the team has confirmed that guard
Marco Belinelli will be out for at least 10 days with a sprained right ankle.
The 6-5 guard suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 120-117
victory over Indiana.
The Warriors are already without Stephen Jackson, who has missed the last
three games with a strained hamstring; Brandan Wright, who is out with a
dislocated left shoulder; and of course guard Monta Ellis, who has missed
the entire season thus far after undergoing surgery on his left ankle stemming
from an offseason moped accident.
Now in his second NBA season after being drafted 18th overall out of Italy
in 2007, Belinelli is averaging 9.6 points on 44 percent shooting this season.
Over the past month, he has developed into an intriguing perimeter scoring
threat for the Warriors, the second-highest scoring club in the NBA.
