在Federer的网站讨论区看到个消息，从德国报纸来的， 有热心网友翻成英文。 大意是说，Federer之前的生病比他自己说的严重，医生诊断是食物中毒， 而且Federer躺了了六天，掉了三公斤 ...而且还发烧腹泻 ... 　　(好像是住院住了一或两个晚上之类的　...) 如果这是真的，我只能说，能一路冲到准决赛也太猛了!!! 如果这是真的，他在输球之後还能不怪罪自己的生病去称赞对手， 不让自己的身体状况不好去掩盖对手的成就，也太有风度一点。 最後，Federer的纪录虽然终止了， 可是他奋战的精神或许证明他离走下坡可能还有一点距离， 病成这样，然後很快上场打比赛，还能一路闯到准决赛， 尤其对Tip那场可是打long game的五盘大战， 还能挺的过去 ...我对2008年还挺乐观的^^ ps.报导中也有提出他的体能教练说的话，所以可信度应该还可以。 全文英文如下: Poisoning, Fever, Hospital! Roger Federer was much more ill than he admitted before the Australian Open. He was flat out in hospital for 6 days with fever and diarrhea. With this history his semi final loss is no disappointment, but an outstanding performance of his will. Before the start of the Australian Open two weeks ago when Federer spoke about his food poisoning, he said something like, 'I woke on Satruday with a fever, and the hospital diagonosed a slight food poisoning. But I felt better very soon however, and now I feel 100% fit.' Also after the semi final defeat on Friday to Novak Djokovic, he didn't want his disturbed preparation to apply as an excuse. 'Maybe it has played a role, but I don't know'. However, he admitted that he was less quick on the court and less bubbly than he usually felt. No wonder! It pays tribute to Roger, that he is not looking for excuses, but the truth is otherwise. With a short hospital visit the matter was far from fixed. According to reliable sources of SonntagBlick, Roger's illness was deliberately spoken about little for tactical reasons. They wanted to show the opponents no weakness. They were very pleased that they had succeeded to hide the real health problems of the Swiss. This also explains why Federer thought the semi final results was 'pretty good'. (and my part: it explains why he wasn't too distraught in the presser.) This version is further supported by Fitness coach Pierre Paganini. In 'Le Matin' he explained that Federer had suffered 6 days of fever and diarrhea and lost 3kg of body mass. 'That would have laid down any athlete.' Paganini also confirmed that the world number 1 travelled to Australia in the best physical shape. Under this news, Federer's semi final qualification receives a much higher value. Had Roger declared a forfeit because of his illness, he could have already been replaced by Nadal as No.1 in the coming weeks. Now however, the Basler receives an area of opportunity to bring his body back into top form. After a break another intensive training phase with Pierre and DC captain Severin Luthi in Dubai is planned. Roger will only come back to tournament events with his 'home tournament' in the desert city in the first week of March. Then really again 100% fit. --
