The FC Porto Coach evidently didn't want – and wasn't expecting – to return
from Braga with no points and Sporting Lisbon pulling level with the Dragoes,
but the tactician was calm and realistic in his assessment of the first match
FC Porto have lost in the Bwin Liga this season.
"It wasn't what we expected, and we were better up until the first goal that
Sp. Braga scored, and even after that we managed to score an equaliser before
half time. The mistake we made was being too anxious to overturn the result
in the second half", he explained.
"On the other hand, Sporting Braga kept their cool and used objectivity to
seek out and exploit our weak points, namely on the edge of our box. I must
also add that from the efforts the FC Porto players put in a draw wouldn't
have been an unfair outcome", Jesualdo added.
"This result also needs to be seen in context. This is only the fifth round
and we've got a lot of the championship left to play and I'm certain that
FC Porto will improve and we'll take a good shot at the 2006-7 title. Braga
played well and should be congratulated, but we walk out of here with our
heads held high", concluded the Coach.
