Referee Joao Ferreira added to what some will claim was a biased performance – shades of the 'Golden Whistle' – by not blowing up for two local penalties. Joao Moutinho and Liedson both seemed to suffer in the Pacense box but the man in black waved play on both times. It's perhaps worth remembering that the same ref was the centre of attention in the Boavista-Benfica battle last week as there may be some follow-up to come. It would be equally unfair to say that Pacos de Ferreira didn't deserve the win as Jose Mota's men played on first name terms with their Alvalade hosts, and Bento's men showed the polar opposite of their performance against Inter Milan. Sporting were sluggish, lacking the spark and ideas that are essential to the success of this team. Sporting's best man was arguably Miguel Veloso; the midfielder almost scoring with an arched corner kick that was cleared off the visitors' line on the half hour mark. Pecanha then had to fly at full stretch as Veloso stitched a free kick close to the junction of the Pacense crossbar and post soon afterwards. It would, nevertheless, be Pacos who'd score in extra time via Ronny (47 min), appearing at the far post to net a corner – although with his left arm. Sporting and Portugal goalie Ricardo was left windmilling with indignation, but Joao Ferreira, not even bothering to consult his linesman, validated the goal. Joao Ferreira also didn't see a penalty as the other end as Mangualde shoved Joao Moutinho in the back and sent the young midfielder sprawling. Bento brought on Ronny and Djalo for a rather grey Miguel Garcia & Romagnoli and the catalyst worked as Sporting speeded up noticeably. Alecsandro and Djalo both came close to equalising but Pecanha was colossal between the visiting sticks. Bueno, on for Alecsandro, hit the crossbar and brought out yet another great save from Brazilian keeper Pecanha. The match ended with another controversial decision; Liedson being brought down in the visitors' area but Ferreira turning a blind eye. Ferreia的守门员Pecanha的几次精采扑救，让Sporting这场比赛只能以小负收场。 --
