Deco Criticises Mijatovic
Deco has hit out at Real Madrid sporting director Pedja Mijatovic as the
"war" ahead of Barcelona's "Clasico" match continues...
Deco told Sport.es of his disappointment over Pedja Mijatovic's speculations
regarding the state of Barcelona's squad morale.
"It's fine to talk about football, but not the dressing rooms," said the
Portuguese midfielder.
"That's wrong. It forces the opponent to reply. It's unfair.
"His words don't serve as motivation because we're already motivated to meet
Real Madrid, but they are inappropriate.
"The locker room is sacred and a guy like him who has been a member of one
must know it. So it's sad to discuss it. Perhaps as he's no longer a player
he's forgotten what it was.
"I suppose that now he's on the other side, he has to do his work."
Another member of the Madrid hierarchy doing their job is Bernd Schuster, who
remarked that he's not giving too much thought to Barcelona due to his side's
league leadership.
"He's right about that," said Deco.
"They're leaders and cannot look back, only forward. He has every right to
say that, but the important thing for us is to reach the end of the league
with ourselves looking forward."
Lionel Messi's injury will make the Clasico all the harder, but Deco feels
that it's not a giant shock.
"Unfortunately, we're used to losing important players in recent seasons," he
noted.
"Messi's in good form, but we can still overcome his loss. The team's showing
its skills. His injury can't be an excuse for not winning against Madrid.
"He's not replacable - he's too special - but the team needs to learn to play
well without it.
"Ronaldinho? He's the best in the world and players like that don't belong on
the bench, but this is football: everyone needs to be subbed now and again.
The good news is that it shows that the team can survive without any player."
Moving on to discuss Samuel Eto'o, he added, "He suffered a terrible back
injury, but he's fine physically now, is suffering from no discomfort, and is
getting back to his best football.
"He's a great player who, in addition to having ability, also works hard, and
he is essential to the team.
"Eidur Gudjohnsen? He's a friend, and he's working hard on the pitch to take
advantage of his opportunities. Competition like his motivates you."

本来还蛮想帮这个新闻下标题:『Mijatovic , why don't you shut up?』
也算跟上西班牙的潮流(请上 google 查关键字: Juan Carlos II, Hugo Chavez)
不过为了不造成对球员发言的误解,所以作罢。
