Tigers placed 1B Miguel Cabrera on the 15-day disabled list with a strained
left calf.
It's the first time in Cabrera's career that he has been on the disabled
list. This is a major blow to the Tigers and to fantasy owners, as the
All-Star slugger was hitting an absurd .350/.456/.578 with 15 homers and 54
RBI on the season. The hope is that he will be able to return immediately
after the All-Star break. In a corresponding move, Jefry Marte was recalled
from Triple-A Toledo. Jul 4 - 9:32 AM
