Geovany Soto (oblique) is expected to be placed on the disabled list
on Friday.
The injury, while being called "mild" is worse than originally thought.
Manager Lou Pinella said that Soto could miss up to a month. This
is just the latest in a series of disappointments for the 2008 National
League Rookie of the Year. He looked to be turning it on in June,
with six homers in 74 at-bats. Owners will have to wait for a return on
their investment. The Cubs will have to make a move for a catcher
this weekend, with Jake Fox functioning as the backup for now.
