Jun 18 Ordonez has been "indefinitely" removed from the Tigers' lineup, the Detroit News reports.
Recommendation: The Tigers don't want to call the move a "benching," with manager Jim Leyland saying "I'm going to get him away from it." However, Leyland also noted Ordonez would be out "indefinitely." Ryan Raburn got the start in right for the Tigers. Ordonez has not been terrible other than the lack of power numbers, as he's maintaining a .273 batting average but has only hit two homers and driven in 22. Only the lack of homers (and doubles) can be blamed on Ordonez, since he's batting .320 with
runners on base and .300 with RISP.
