City have already indicated that they are prepared to sell Anelka for a major bid, and Fenerbahce are apparently determined to stave off interest from the likes of Liverpool, who look set to sign Fernando Morientes. The Turkish giants have reportedly offered a lump sum of around €10 million (￡7m), which is likely to prove far more tempting than the structured payments that they are likely to receive from elsewhere.
