标题[Ask ] please help me to find the mistake in this sentence

We had been in the city not more than two days until we found that we needed
a guide.
This is a sentence and there is a mistake in it.
I feel the word "until" is inappropriate in this sentence,
but i can't find a word to replace it.
Please give me the answer if you know.
