Just wanted to ask what everyone's favorite poems/quotes are I'm a bit curious, that's all I think all of the quotes I frequently use are from Shakespeare, which I blame four years of compulsory high school english literature for. What's your favorite play for Shakespeare? I like Macbeth. My favorite poem is by Robert Frost It's called "The Road Not Taken" Two roads diverged in a yellow road, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And look down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that passing there Had worn them equally about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. This poem has always been my favorite, ever since I heard it in 9th grade. The message of the poem applies to me every step of the way. I'm still struggling to find my way, to find the road that I can walk down without regret. I'm not the adventurous kind, nor do I like trying new things, but I hope one day I can look back and say the road I took was the right one. No one knows the future though. These are hard choices that comes with being alive and living. To quote Macbeth "Life is but a walking shadow, A poor player, That struts and frets his hour upon the stage, And then is heard no more." I'm being pessimistic =.= -- Dating is an art, and love is a science XD --
