Dear Boardmates, I'm not sure how to put this across, and neither am I certain if I can post this here, so if I'm breaking any rules, my dear Board Master, please do feel free to delete this post and let me know about my mistake. The thing is this; I'll be visiting Taiwan in December by myself, mainly to relax, partly to do some fieldwork (I teach Geography), and most importantly to fall in love with Taiwan all over again. I've rented my own little room, and I'm pretty much independent (being Chinese helps, though my Chinese is, well, sigh). However, I would love to make new friends, more friends, hopefully long-lasting friends whom I can shower my care and concern, and pamper with random (but honest) compliments. Perhaps someone, or better yet, a group of people to climb a mountain with, watch a movie with, drink a cup of coffee, dance by wilding swinging our arms, watch television, or just crack silly jokes, perhaps even cry your heart out over that worthless idiot who left you for someone else with. (And you can practice your English at the same time!) My point is, well, you know how sometimes in movies there comes a stranger into someone's life and completely changes it for the better? I'm not that stranger. I'm just someone who hopefully can come into your life and let you into mine, and have a laugh over a nice bowl of noodles, or rice. I need friends. I need more friends in Taipei.
