I really don't know how students learn English in Taiwan when they have to differentiate between American and British accents in school. Even the spelling's a little different between US and UK, like "gray" versus "grey". I think even Americans themselves might have a difficult time trying to understand the various accents in their own country, because it's so big, like northern and southern accents, and Californian versus New Yorker accent. But I have the most difficulty listening to people from India speak English. Your English must be very good to be able to understand those two guys from your lab, since they're not even from the US or UK... --
