时间Sun Nov 30 22:01:40 2008
Name: Anne Lin
Birthday: 08.05.1990
Occupation: I'm a freshman in NTU, majoring English.
Hello, everyone. I just discovered this board and thought it may be really in-
teresting to know many English-lovers here. :] English has always been my hobby
since I was little. I like to watch American TV series and listen to English songs.
Hope that I can find some friends who have the same interests here. Nice to meet you.
xoxo
Anne

F:推 serveto:NTU's Japanese Language Department seems to be 11/30 23:37
F:→ serveto:established only recently 11/30 23:37
F:→ serveto:so now students there have many languages to learn 11/30 23:38
F:→ alanne:hmm... sorry, I don't quite know. It's established in 11/30 23:42
F:→ alanne:1994, pretty new I think. 11/30 23:42
F:推 serveto:There are so many media in English and Japanese 11/30 23:45
F:→ serveto:language....which should have provided with good 11/30 23:46
F:→ serveto:access to their learning 11/30 23:46
F:→ serveto:if someday there two languages would be announced 11/30 23:47
F:→ serveto:another two official language 11/30 23:47
F:→ serveto:In Taiwan most people can speak the Mandarin and 11/30 23:48
F:→ serveto:Taiwanese....the latter mostly comes from the family 11/30 23:48
F:→ alanne:though many Taiwanese know how to speak English and 11/30 23:56
F:→ alanne:Japanese, they seldom really use them in their daily 11/30 23:57
F:→ alanne:life. It might be a bit hard for them to become 11/30 23:57
F:推 serveto:so that's the point....language is to be used 11/30 23:57
F:→ alanne:official languages here. 11/30 23:58
F:→ serveto:English as a subject often appearing in the exams 11/30 23:58
F:→ serveto:has sometimes almost become an esoteric branch of 11/30 23:59
F:→ serveto:learning....quite contrary to its daily language 12/01 00:00
F:→ serveto:status 12/01 00:00
F:→ serveto:what i'm trying to say is no language has that big 12/01 00:01
F:→ serveto:deal, as long as you use it habitually 12/01 00:01
F:→ alanne:yeah, I totally agree with you. I don't like people 12/01 00:04
F:→ alanne:studying English the way they study other subjects. 12/01 00:05
F:→ alanne:It really won't help if one just remembering vocabulary 12/01 00:07
F:→ alanne:or the grammar rules. Sadly, as a English major, I 12/01 00:08
F:推 serveto:anyway, I can just take care of myself...watching 12/01 00:08
F:→ alanne:don't have many chances to say English, either. 12/01 00:09
F:→ serveto:movies, TV episodes, broadcast online....to help mysel 12/01 00:09
F:→ serveto:more familiar with English listening and speaking 12/01 00:10
F:→ serveto:yep...so now I often download films on the internet 12/01 00:10
F:→ serveto:search for the subtitles...and watch and imitate how 12/01 00:11
F:→ serveto:native speakers 12/01 00:11
F:→ alanne:yeah, that's what our professor suggest us should do 12/01 00:19
F:→ alanne:too. After weeks of listening, it really helped. 12/01 00:19
F:推 Bigfatty73:I know I use Japanese to mess around. I kinda like 12/01 00:20
F:推 serveto:but sometimes I think just to listen is not enough 12/01 00:21
F:→ Bigfatty73:the ?-face and the twisting lips 12/01 00:21
F:→ serveto:got to speak it by oneself...cuz for a native speaker 12/01 00:22
F:→ serveto:the same sentence or phrase can be said with such a 12/01 00:22
F:→ serveto:fluency because he is so used to it 12/01 00:23
F:→ serveto:so occasionally one would get the tongue-tied to 12/01 00:23
F:→ serveto:learn the way a native speak 12/01 00:23
F:→ alanne:totally. We have to put more emphasis while native- 12/01 00:29
F:→ alanne:speakers say it with ease. 12/01 00:29
F:→ alanne:i'm curious what's the ?-face and the twisting lips?? 12/01 00:31
F:推 Bigfatty73:I cause confusion period 12/01 00:55
F:→ alanne:no, you didn't. I just wanted to know. That's all. :) 12/01 08:53
F:推 sniper99:I think going to English speaking countries is the 12/01 12:05
F:→ sniper99:most helpful in learning English, even just for few 12/01 12:05
F:→ sniper99:months. 12/01 12:05
F:→ alanne:I agree with you. I was in London for only 2 months, 12/01 13:36
F:→ alanne:but I had to speak English all the time. It was really 12/01 13:37
F:→ alanne:a good experience for me. I want to stay in an English 12/01 13:37
F:→ alanne:speaking country for a longer time, but it costs much:( 12/01 13:38

F:→ Rattlesnake:is Shakespeare a necessary course of Eng. dep.?XD 12/01 14:02
F:→ alanne:yeah, it is. However, I'm still in the "ancient" age 12/01 18:16
