标题[Joke]Pretending I understand

I live with my landlord in the U.S. She's a cantonese monther who has lived
here for more than 20 years. We speak only English because she doesn't know
too much mandarin and I don't speak any cantonese either.
I was washing my clothes this morning, and she knocked my door and told me
something I didn't understand. Originally, I had a question mark expression
on my face then she tried to speak slower and clearer. Unfortunately, I still
didn't get it and I thought if I kept saying "I can't understand what you're
saying..." is awkward! Therefore, I decided to pretend that I got it. It
seemed she was very satisfied and she left.
I closed my door and went back to my seat. I'm thinking what the hell she was
saying? However, I really don't know! Do you think I should ask her again or
just let it go??
