English (or any language) is only a tool for communication; but you must first
have some things and some reasons to communicate. Without that "goods" to be
delivered, no matter how well you may use a language you shall remain
irrelevant.
Don't miss this important fact. However, in today's team-work environment, if
you have team members who can provide substance (or the other way around, you
have the substance and a teammate has the communication skill), then you still
may work together and become successful, together. In this case, the glory does
not belong to any one individual but is to be shared.
So, go for it, English or otherwise, and bring out your own best.
