标题[Talk] Let's talk about movies
时间Fri Mar 30 18:12:20 2007
Hello everyone, My name is Dmitri.
I think it's better to raise a topic of talking
rather than to post the introduction of myself,
so that we'll get to know each other in the discussion.
I guess everyone agrees that watching movies helps us to learn a language.
You can improve your listening comprehension,
learn what to say under diffrent circumstances,
and, the most important thing, express yourself correctly.
I enjoy watching movies ignoring the subtitles
(if it's dvd, I'll turn it off or switch to English subtitles)
so that I can 'join' the conversations.
It's also surprising to find out
how unreliable the Chinese subtitles really are,
so if I understand the plot only through the translation,
a lot of informations and ideas will be mistaken and missed.
OK now let's hit the topic.
My favorite choice is 'Sideways'.
The dialogue was smart, sensitive, and humourous in a decent way
(which is sort of rare nowadays).
Definitely a film I'd recommend feverishly!
How about yours?
