Generally speaking, if English is your first langauge, and you are talking to your friends, you will not pay a lot of attention to your langauge. I won't say it is bad English because it can be more interesting and more relaxing, but as for English learners, it is a bit hard to keep up with. When living overseas, I often found daily conversation was not a piece of cake. Now I know people better and can expect what they will say so informal English is not as irritating as before. To be able to use English informally is a great achievement but it is unwise to learn so in Taiwan. Informal things come fast and go fast so don't learn it until you need to. --
