Television is an electronic device for people for disseminating informations, which are combined with visual and audio informations broadcasted from television stations to the owners of televisions. It was invented at about one century ago in 1888, and began to prevail just after World War II; however, it is supposed to be one of the most significant appliances in 20 century, which has changed people greatly in all aspects of people's life. I think the chief influences television has on our lives is that it makes it much easier for us to acquire many daily or instant informations such as daily news. In addition, it brodens our horizons in various kinds of knowledges, and entertains us through many interesting programs. If one family has a TV at home, all memebers can turn on the TV just by pressing a button on the remote control. It is said that "one can know things all over the world without going outside.", and one can make this dream come true with the help of a TV. Besides, it takes a good deal of time to have some entertainments without wasting a lot of time on transportation. Before the emergence of television industries, it took much time to go to a theater for watching dramas or movie theaters for watching movies. What did they do for entertainments are playing outdoor games such as hide-and-seek or creatures in the mud, which seem to be less interesting and without variations. After TV companies massively manufactured TVs and the price of reduced to the lesser, people can cut down on the time of transportation, and watch TV plays with funny plot and other interesting TV programs. The life of people is really brightened. Additionally, television also changes people's concepts and feelings for the world. Through the fast transmission of informations, all people in the world feel as if being linked together. Every countries, cities, and people are highly related with one another. However, the demerits and harm of TV are also great for people. For example, many adults, childrens, or even like to watch TV all the time after getting off duty, and some of them watch TV programs all the time after dinner. Its' said that watching TV is an act which requires little for thinking. To sit on the sofa and watch TV for much time is kind of lazy, indolent, and idiotic. Our time is precious for us to use, and it is much more meaningful to partake in some other activities or develop the hobbes we are good at. What's worse, some stuff which is popular in TV programs is really vulgar and worldly. If a some people always want to catch up with the popularity, they would forget the things they originally want to pursue at heart. It's really a pity for them. In conclusion, television really influence people a lot, and what really counts for those who have a TV is to well use them. The best way for people to confront with TV is that don't spend too much time on watching and indulging themselves in it. Try to discern that whether one TV program is beneficial or not. When watching TV programs, try to think more about what you are watching. If so, a TV would have a good influence on you. --
