Being able to 'talk the talk and walk the walk' can prove quite helpful in coping with these kinds of situations. Be flexible and enjoy its benefits. One does not have to suck up or be pretentious to be successful, but having good small-talk skills and confidence does always make a positive impression when interacting with other people. --
