If you go to say the boy-girl board, you'll see lots of people constantly asking for other people's advice, describing the the situation between them, and wanting to know whether he/she likes him/her, or just want to be friends. I know some people say that the sweetest or most beautiful love is when it is still ambiguous, when the people are guessing, wondering, with their hearts hanging there, wanting to be daring, yet afraid that they will get hurt... Now, I'm not saying that I disagree with that completely, for sometimes it really is true. But I think more often than not, that perception seems to have come from the love stories in movies, the romance genre in books, where people see the main characters second guessing each other, when us, as the audience, know that they both love each other, but are just not brave enough to do something about it... And then our hearts ache for the characters. We are happy for them if they get together at the end, and we weep for them if something happens so that they don't end up together, and it becomes a tragic story. Personally, I'm not a great fan of such movies/books. Movies are ok sometimes but I can't stand reading romance books! >< Even though I love reading, and read a variety of books. Part of the reason for that is because I don't think that is very real... And I find it quite boring sometimes! :P Anyway, got side-tracked there! What I was saying is that yes, I have had some personal experience of the kind that you are describing, and I have to say that I don't like it :( I guess your views on that would depend on what eventually happens. For me, nothing ever happened, we stayed as friends, and amazingly, to other people, they didn't really know that much happened at all. But only I know how much it had hurt. It turned out so painful for me, not because I liked him more than as a friend, but because he made me believe that he liked me also. To put it plainly, he pretty much flirted. (Yes, it's not only girls that flirt!) At the end, I was horrified to see what it really was: to him, it was just like a game, and he kept up with the game until he decided to go after a girl, and then turn around to deny that anything ever happened - suddenly becoming very distant, and claiming that he had liked his girlfriend (after they started going out) for 2 years... Anyway, that was a long time ago now. But I think I learned a very important lesson from that experience. :) Sorry I rambled on.... as always haha~ --
