标题[问题] Memory internal/external retention

When I am studying semiconductor memory testing, I ususaly see nouns
"internal data retention" , "exernal data retention" , I consider internal data
retention is memory holding data, but can not comprehand what external data
retention is, as that in

hope someone could explain it.thanks.
