Czech captain Galasek leaves Ajax for Nuremberg

Czech defensive midfielder Tomas Galasek has signed a two-year deal with
Bundesliga side Nuremberg, leaving Ajax Amsterdam on a free transfer,
the CTK news agency reported on Thursday.
Galasek, 33, was offered a new contract by Ajax but turned the offer down.
The Czech captain took over the defensive midfield duties from Radek Bejbl
after UEFA EURO 2000 and has established himself as indispensible since then.
Galasek is preparing for the FIFA World Cup? finals in Germany which start
on 9 June.
