Devin Harris is a little out of his comfort zone these days and it’s no fault of his. The 6-3 combo guard has found a nice role as the Mavericks’ sixth man, but former teammate Brandan Wright, with whom he could be counted on for several alley-oop passes that ended up getting flushed by Wright, is gone to Boston in the trade for Rondo. “He was my security blanket,” Harris said. “When I got in trouble, I could always throw it up there, and I knew he’d be there to go up and get it. Our other bigs are other types of players.” While Tyson Chandler can still play above the rim, Harris is not necessarily on the court a lot with the starting center. Greg Smith and Charlie Villanueva, the other backup big men, are more of a banger and a shooter, respectively. Harris said Smith, who has received many of Wright’s minutes, “can be effective.
