Now the midfielder has established himself as one of the best in La Liga, and more clubs are interested in his services, although Deporitvo are considered to be in pole position. THERE IS ROOM FOR ANOTHER MIDFIELDER There are already three defensive mifielders set to play next season for Deportivo. Duscher and Sergio will continue at the club, while Canadian de Guzman will also join the squad during the summer. But with the certain retirement of Mauro Silva, there would still be a position to be filled, making Marcos Assunçao a very good alternative. The midfielder is part of the Betis team that made life hard for Deportivo in the past seasons. Especially in this one, the Galicians have only earned one point in the two encounters against Betis, and Assunçao's team are currently in third place, a direct rival of Deportivo for the Champions League positions. He already scored eight goals in La Liga this season, the same amount as Diego Tristan and one less than Luque. A club can test the player thoroughly and decide later to buy him or not. If Lendoiro decides to rent players for the centenario, Deportivo would become the first team in Spain to promote this bussiness model.
