Eighth minutes later it was Javi Guerrero who was close to getting it, as his lob surprised Molina but only hit the bar. But slowly the match was becoming more easy and the changes of Racing didn’t bring them the freshness they wanted. Nevertheless, the reward was to come for the visitors as Javi Guerrero had more luck with his lob with ten minutes remaining. He executed a fine counterattack and didn’t waste the opportunity to draw the match level. Irureta then took off Valeron, as the Canarian midfielder was never into the match. But all was in vain as Deportivo never looked to be winning this match. 这时候，我想只要...╮(╯╰)╭...就够了。 [AFTER THE MATCH] Although a 1-1 draw at home against Racing de Santander sounds disappointing, it looks like point won. The visitors played better and had more opportunities to score, so there shouldn’t be much complaints from Deportivo about the final score. Nevertheless, matches like these should be won to stay in the title hunt . Next week, against Zaragoza, the team will have another opportunity to prove its value. Currently Deportivo occupy the third position; something bigger clubs like Atletico and Barcelona will be jealous of. Other teams like Betis Sevilla, Real Sociedad and Celta de Vigo are even fighting against relegation. Besides, the 37 points of the moment mean that the records set under Irureta in the seasons 1999/2000 and 2000/2001 have been equalized. In 2000 Deportivo finished as champions and one year later as second placed.
