This fourth participation is a privilege that only Real Madrid had in Spain. The all decisive match in Riazor was decided by a goal of Albert Luque after fifteen minutes. Deportivo tried to win the match from the beginning and they played their best match of the preseason. The home team could scored more goals but instead ended up suffering because the relief did not come. Deportivo coach Javier Irureta had changed the style of playing of his team by using Albert Luque at the left of the midfield and Mauro Silva between the defence and the midfield. Also surprising was to see the slight injured Molina in goal. "Los Blanquiazules" moved the ball more quick in midfield and made the Norway team defend from the beginning. Juan Carlos Valeron was the director of the orchestra, as always, and he was accompanied by Sergio. Also Luque and Victor Sanchez were very active at the wings.
