He also led the league in strikeout rate by a mile. The contract that he signed after getting posted by the Nippon-Ham Fighters always projected as a bargain, once the posting fee was covered. With Darvish establishing himself as a perennial Cy Young candidate, though, the four years and $41 million he has left on his deal look like typos. 11.
