The best arm in the family belongs to Nick, who can reach triple digits with his fastball. Burdi reached 97 mph in high school but an inconsistent senior season dropped him to the 24th round of the 2011 Draft, ensuring that he'd attend college. He has hit 100 mph and regularly pitched in the upper 90s with his fastball during his two years with Louisville. He gets good life on his heater and hitters can't sit on it because if they try, he can make them look bad with a slider that can creep into the 90s. While he'll occasionally throw a decent changeup, Burdi projects as a two-pitch reliever in pro ball. The Cardinals have toned down his delivery, but it still features effort and that costs him some command. Those players' combined 106.6 Wins Above Replacement ranks 10th in the big leagues.
