My bf is a Sicilian, whose parents are from Sicily. However, he was born in Canada. His culture is very similar to Asian's. Women should stay at home and take care of the whole family, clean the house and make good food. The family respects mama very much, and mama always gives advices. In Italy society, men have more power than women. Men make orders, and women follow. They think two people marry means two family's combination. As a result, his mama tends him marry an Italian as well. Because of my family is in Taiwan and they can't speak English, they couldn't talk to or communicate to my family. Before children get married,they should stay with their parents. No matter how old they are. His mama wants me to take care of her son well if we do get married. In her opinion, women need to know how to clean the hous and make good food just as she used to do. She is always cleaning and making food. "That is crazy." my bf said. Thanks God that my bf isnt that kind of person. However, time changes so that women still have to work and some concept has been changed. She is a nice lady and treats me good. Italian food always goes with cheese.
