Kerry Wood said he was removed from today's game after five innings due to some more soreness in his shoulder. Because of the cold weather, Wood said his shoulder was stiff before the game, though it loosened up as time went on. ''It was a little cranky today,'' he said. ''This was the coldest day I've pitched in so far this year. We kind of made the decision it was enough and get ready for the next one.'' Wood added that he didn't expect to miss a start. ''I've got some treatment to do,'' he said. ''It's not an injury of any kind where I'm going to miss time, hopefully.'' We'll see. If Wood goes on the DL, the Cubs could go to Glendon Rusch or call up Sergio Mitre.
