It is played by Shona people of Zimbabwe. The Shona have played the mbira for more than a thousand years. It is mentioned in their literature and is a part of their worship and rituals. The Shona name for the instrument is “mbira dzavadzimu”, which means “mbira of the ancestors”. The mbira is played for important Shona ceremonies, an all-night spirit possession ceremony. For these ceremonies the mbira is accompanied by hand-clapping, singing,and percussion instruments. The Shona believe that the music of the mbira connects them to their ancestors. Let's feel Africa! ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// 关於表演者 About The Performer/ ● Sumi Madzitateguru スミ・マズィタテグル (JP) 一位来自日本的Mbira演奏家，是在非洲辛巴威的「Madzitateguru Mbira乐团」的成员之 一。 11年前他环游世界两年半，在非洲遇见了安比拉琴，於是从11年前开始每年都到辛巴威学 习这样乐器。 绍纳人都说Sumi不是日本人，他是绍纳人，他所演奏出的Mbira具有灵魂，他的歌声充满 力量。 让我们一起享受充满灵魂的非洲传统音乐吧！ A Japanese mbira player, who is the member of a mbira ensemble in Zimbabwe called "Madzitateguru Mbira Orchestra". 11 years ago, he traveled around the world for 2 years and a half, and he found the mbira in Africa. Since that time, he has gone to Zimbabwe every year for 11 years. Shona people say "Sumi is not a Japanese, Sumi is Shona people. There are spirits in his mbira music and his voice."
