标题请问：Stages of development 和 Dynamic systems approach

现在在上认知发展的课程，课本是用 "Children's Thinking"
里面的第一章有讲到：
@ Stages of development
Characteristics of stages (Flavell, 1971)
* Qualitative or quantitative differences ?
这个我不懂，好像是一个质化一个量化，这两个要怎麽解释呢？
* Continuity vs. discontinuity
* Homogeneity of cognitive function
另一个是动力系统理论： Dynamic systems approach
这两个理论是什麽？两者有何不同？请问有人知道吗~可以帮我解释一下吗~感谢大家~^^
