Input Methods Common input methods are based on pronunciation, but there are some input methods for advanced users, which are based on components in characters, which is faster than the other system. You can change the keyboard settings between bopomofo and Pinyin after you set up the IME. Neither bopomofo (MPS) nor Pinyin is perfect. The longer you learn Mandarin Chinese, the further you understand that they are good and bad in different aspects. Also, the punctuation marks are as big as a Chinese character.
