International Conference on Chinese Language Learning and Teaching in the Digital Age CLTDA Young Scholar Award The CLTDA Young Scholar Award Competition is held in conjunction with the International Conference on Chinese Language Learning and Teaching in the Digital Age, to promote, recognize, and encourage scholarship by young scholars in the area of Chinese language teaching and learning with innovative approaches in the 21st century. The Conference places emphasis on the learning of the Chinese language rather than just following the traditional focus on teaching it. A major emphasis is on what resources and new perspectives the digital age makes available to enable front-line teachers and researchers alike to better understand and appreciate the Chinese language which would enhance their work. They cover relevant developments in neuro- and cognitive lingusitics, socio- and computational linguistics, educational and clinical linguistics, in addition to descriptive linguistics and educational technology. Candidates should submit a full paper on the theme of 'Innovation in Chinese Learning and Teaching in the Digital Era'. All submitted papers will be reviewed by an International Review Committee. Finalists will be required to make an oral presentation before a Panel of Judges at the Conference. Requirements a. Current undergraduate or postgraduate students under age 40 in any tertiary institute. b. Submission of one single-authored full paper which must be unpublished and original. c. The paper can be either in (Traditional or Simplified) Chinese or English (max. 15 pages, font size point 12 and 1-inch margin all around) d. For submission, (1) Document Format: MSWord or PDF; (2) A separate sheet with: (a) author's name, (b) institutional affiliation and degree programme, (c) title of the paper, and (d) correspondence and e-mail addresses (3) Send to [email protected] before 31 August 2011. e.
