Finally on Monday at the Berto Center, the architect of this surprising turnaround, general manager John Paxson, stood up and toasted the players that made this all possible. “My intention this off-season is to bring everyone back,” Paxson said. That’s my goal. We’ll sit down with (chairman) Jerry (Reinsdorf) and other people after the season and we’ll go over kind of financially what that will mean. “But I think all of us agree that we need to continue this thing going. The continuity is going to be very important. Guard Frank Williams, who played in only nine games this season, is another free agent, but he could probably find a better opportunity elsewhere. The Bulls have no draft picks this year and won’t have salary-cap room until 2006. The likely goal this summer will be to seek a taller, defensive-minded shooting guard. The playoffs will be exciting, it’s just too bad we won’t have Eddy and Luol (Deng) to experience that with us.
