Both will be in the dugout at Anfield tonight as the Blues open up a third front in our challenge for honours, and Zola admits there is even more to Sarri's coaching and preparation than he imagined. As a consequence, he is learning a lot. 'If you go back to my story, I started [management] like crazy,' Zola points out. 'I went straight away in the Premier League with West Ham which went well, but I think I was missing a lot of things in management. Now I think I am catching up with this experience, and I very proud because Maurizio's work is quite hot. 'I knew he was good but I did not expect him to be that good. I have seen very few coaches that work so detailed and so much on the games and on everything he does. What you see on the pitch is a result of huge work behind it, which he does mainly but also the whole team around him does. The players most of the time when they go on the pitch, they know everything they have to do on the pitch and it becomes easier for them to play. 'Everyone in his coaching staff works a lot, it has been quite an experience but the more you work, the more energy you find to work.' Zola explains that it is incredible the amount of information that can be obtained when you pay attention to certain aspects of games played, but he insists there is no big secret. You start by looking at the opposition, everything they do in every part of the pitch and then you take it onto the pitch and try to counteract what the opposition does. For Zola, as well as a rewarding and educational experience, his new role of course has the added benefit of reuniting him with the club he served with such distinction for seven seasons until 2003. 'I was very surprised when this opportunity came to me,' he admits, 'especially considering my last experience with my previous job with Birmingham was very painful for me, so I could not believe it. This was a blessing for me, I am very happy and this is why I am throwing everything I have got into making sure this experience is good. 'The club is different from the one I left without a doubt but nothing remains the same and life is so. Things always evolve and the club from 2003 has evolved a lot and won a lot and I am very pleased for that. Hopefully I am here with Maurizio to help the club develop even more.
