He was named in the first team squad during 2014/15. He then made his Chelsea debut in a League Cup win away at Shrewsbury Town. 3. During his time in the Academy he won both the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League. The defender spent a successful two-year loan spell at German top-flight club Borussia Monchengladbach. At the end of an impressive first season in Germany, Christensen won the club's Player of the Year award. 5. During his time in Germany, Christensen experienced Champions League football for the first time. Over the course of his two years at the club, Gladbach played against the likes of Barcelona and Manchester City in the tournament, meaning Christensen was able to compete against some of the best attackers in Europe. 6. Christensen is a Denmark international. Having represented his country across the younger age groups, he made his senior debut at the age of 19 in a 2015 game against Montenegro. 7. Christensen is a versatile player.
